Real Betis is actively working to finalize an agreement to bring Antony from Manchester United using various financing methods, including incentive-based payment options as the summer transfer window nears its closure.
According to a report from Sky Sports News, Betis continues to explore multiple financial arrangements to facilitate Antony’s transfer. The Spanish club is looking into a deal with a payment structure that is connected to the player’s performance achievements.
As is known, Betis has an interest in extending Antony’s stay at the club following a successful loan period. However, they face financial challenges in acquiring Antony, who is Manchester United’s most expensive signing during Erik ten Hag’s management.
On the other hand, Manchester United reportedly prefers a permanent deal for the Brazilian player. Yet, with only 12 days remaining until the transfer window closes, the possibility of a loan remains, especially since the player himself is keen to return to Betis.
Last season, Antony wore the number 7 shirt while on loan at Betis. That number has not been assigned this season, creating an opportunity for the Brazilian winger to wear it again.
Antony joined Manchester United in August 2022 from Ajax Amsterdam for a transfer fee of 86 million pounds. However, he has not yet been able to meet expectations in the Premier League.
During his two seasons with the Red Devils, Antony has often struggled with consistency. He scored eight goals in 82 appearances across all competitions, with limited contributions in the 2023/2024 season due to injuries and performance issues.
His loan to Betis in the second half of last season marked a turning point for Antony. He played more freely and began to regain his form. This is why both the player and Betis are considering a reunion this season.
